LISTUSER version 1.4
4-18-90
List the RBBS user file several ways
Copyright 1990 - Allen P. Dew
Have you ever wanted a way to display the RBBS user file outside of RBBS?
Did you want a way to see the users listed alphabetically, or by city-state,
or by last time on? Ever wonder exactly how many users were listed in your
user files?
Now there is a program to assist in looking at the user files in several ways
which can help you to manage your RBBS. The program does not use any special
colors or graphics and therefore should run on almost any MS-DOS or PC-DOS
compatible computer.
The program LISTUSER is furnished as is with no warranty of any type. There
is no guarantee that it will work correctly on any computer. There is no
guarantee that the program will not damage something. The user of this
program bears all risks for damage and the author cannot be held liable for
any damages or costs incurred.
The program LISTUSER is being distributed as shareware. If you find this
program useful and use it with any regularity, then you may send the author
$5.00 or more as compensation for his time and effort.
Running the program is very simple. Just type LISTUSER on the command line
and press ENTER. Then answer the prompts and questions presented.
The complete path to the User file should be entered at the first prompt.
Your user file name should be entered at the second prompt. If your default
directory is where the user file resides, then you only need enter the drive
letter and colon at the first prompt. For example, if your user file is in
subdirectory RBBS on drive D, then enter D:\RBBS\ at the first prompt and
MAINU.DEF at the second prompt (or whatever your user file is named).
LISTUSER makes use of the SORTF program from Vernon Buerg. You will need
to have a recent copy of SORTF (version 2.32 or later) available either
where you run LISTUSER or in a subdirectory in your PATH statement.
If you have troubles with this program or need to contact the author, then
call the support BBS, or Compuserve, and leave a message. Suggestions for
improvements to LISTUSER are welcomed.
